State of the Women's Super League after Round Two
The 2026 Pick n Pay Women’s Super League has delivered high-intensity action, commanding performances and standout individual brilliance in its opening two rounds.
After kicking off on February 14, the Bulls Daisies, Western Province Women and Boland Dames sit level at the top of the standings on 10 points apiece.
However, it is the Pretoria outfit’s staggering points difference of 142 that separates them from the chasing pack and places them firmly at the summit.
Bulls fire early warning
The Bulls have been ruthless on attack and immovable on defence. They have crossed the whitewash 23 times – more than any other side – and are yet to concede a single try. That defensive steel, combined with clinical finishing, has underlined their championship credentials from the outset.
Western Province have also impressed, scoring 18 tries while conceding just four. Boland Dames remain firmly in contention with 13 tries scored and only four conceded, ensuring the early title race is finely balanced despite the Bulls’ dominance.
Mid-table momentum
The EP Queens occupy fourth place with five points after an encouraging start to their campaign. They stunned the Golden Lions in their opener before falling short against the Cheetahs Queens.
The Bloemfontein outfit claimed their first win of the season in that clash, moving into fifth place and gaining valuable momentum as the competition gathers pace.
Meanwhile, Golden Lions Women, Sharks Women and Border Ladies are still searching for their first victories and currently round out the standings in sixth, seventh and eighth place, respectively.
Mpupha leads the charge
Individual brilliance has been just as compelling as the team performances.
Bulls Daisies centre Zintle Mpupha leads the try-scoring charts with five tries in two matches. She announced her intentions with a hat-trick in the opening round before adding a brace against the Sharks last weekend.
Hot on her heels are Western Province wing Voice Ndou and No. 8 Logan Welman, who have each dotted down four times to keep the pressure on the league’s leading scorer.

The battle for dominance extends beyond open play. Jakkie Cilliers has been outstanding from the kicking tee, leading the way with nine conversions.
Libbie Janse van Rensburg has also played a crucial role for the Bulls, combining accurate goal-kicking with attacking impact, while Western Province’s rising star Elma Kruger has kept the scoreboard ticking with seven successful conversions.
