Kolisi underwent surgery on his knee in Cape Town in late April.

The 31-year-old loose forward suffered the injury in the Sharks’ 22-all draw with Irish province Munster in a Round 18 United Rugby Championship clash on April 22.

National team doctor Jerome Mampane and his medical team will continue to monitor his recovery and rehabilitation.

Mampane said it was too early to make any reliable forecasts on when Kolisi may be able to return to play.

However, to the background of the Hillsong tune ‘Awesome God‘, Kolisi seemed comfortable on a training cycle – raising hope that he will return to the playing field ahead of the World Cup in September and October.
