VIDEO: Surgery complete, recovery battle begins for Bok star
VIDEO: Springbok flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit is in a race against time to recover in time for the Boks’ first appointment of the season against England in July.
In a post on social media over the weekend, the star loose forward can be seen lifting weights with his right arm only, holding the left arm close to his chest.
He also does cycling and sit-ups in what appears to be his gym at home.
Du Toit’s cryptic message on the post said: ‘Surgery done, now the real work starts.’
The 32-year-old Du Toit sustained the shoulder injury after arriving back at his club Verblitz in Japan in early December 2025.

The club announced that the Springbok was heading back to South Africa for surgery and that he would be sidelined for an extended period.
The Japanese giants also revealed in the online media statement that the two-time World Rugby Player of the Year has been deregistered as a result of his latest injury setback.
“It has been confirmed that Pieter-Steph du Toit will be taking a long-term leave from Toyota Verblitz,” the club statement read.
“He will undergo surgery for an injury in South Africa, and as a result, his league registration will be cancelled. As a team, we hope for a speedy recovery. The exact date of joining the team will be announced once it is confirmed.”
The Springboks kick off their Nations Championship campaign against England at Ellis Park on July 4.
