VIDEO: 'Unknown' SA star to make life difficult for Barbarians?
WATCH as former All Black captain Sam Cane speaks about facing Springbok newbie Vincent Tshituka for the first time.
There will be a contrast of career timelines when the Boks face the Barbarians at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Sam Cane will, in all likelihood, play his final international match while his opposite number, Vincent Tshituka, will get his first taste in the green and gold jersey.
When asked by @rugby365com if Cane has seen Tshituka play before and what he expects of him, the former All Black captain gave a positive response.
The article continues below…
“It’s been hard not being a part of playing Super Rugby anymore, with [myself] playing in Japan.
“For one, with South Africa not being involved in Super Rugby [anymore], I’ve had limited opportunity to see him [Vincent Tshituka play],” Cane said.
“I’ve heard a wee bit about him through the boys that have been playing in the United Rugby Championship.
“They said he is a promising player who is quite explosive and powerful.
“There are no laptops or footage here.
“We spent minimal time this week looking at the opposition. We’ve just been focusing on coming together as a team.
“So I don’t know a lot about him, but I’m still excited to go up against him.”
