WPRFU elections: Some survivors from Zelt era
SPOTLIGHT: Disgraced former Western Province Rugby Football Union president Zelt Marais’ 10-year ban has been upheld by the South African Rugby Union, but who are the people still in the running for various positions that served since his disastrous presidency tenure?
The notorious Marais era has been well-documented over the last seven years.

His appointment as president was welcomed and seen as a new beginning for the WPRFU.
Sadly, Marais took the union from the sidewalk to the gutter, to the point that the WPRFU was placed under administration by the South African Rugby Union in October 2021.

Then, Marais’s cabinet looked as follows:
President: Zelt Marais
Deputy President: Moneeb Levy
Vice President: Spencer King (unopposed)
Additional members: Peter Jooste, Nadeema Khan, Kevin Kiewitz, Junaid Moerat, Reuben Riffel, Quintin van Rooyen, Mario Williams, Anele Zita
Since then, Ronald Bantom returned as WPRFU Exco following the resignation of Kevin Kiewitz in 2021.
