More bleak news for Wales following skipper's injury
INJURY UPDATE: Wales head coach Steve Tandy provided a bleak outlook regarding captain Jac Morgan’s injury, which he suffered in their 28-52 defeat to Argentina.
Morgan went off after scoring a try in the 53rd minute, which initially appeared to be because of an injured wrist.
However, the hard-hitting captain suffered a dislocated shoulder and would most likely miss the rest of Wales’ Nations Series campaign, Tandy confirmed.
“He’s probably not looking good for the rest of the Nations Series,” said Tandy.
“He dislocated his shoulder. He’s probably going to be no good.
“I’ve seen him in the changing rooms — he’s devastated. Ultimately, it’s just about Jac recovering. With that, it gives someone else an opportunity.”

Morgan was one of the standout performers in the big defeat to Argentina, scoring a try, making the most carries (14) and won the most turnovers (2).
“It’s always a blow to lose any player, but losing Jac — he was outstanding out there,” Tandy added.
“Not only just the player, but the man. The try he scored was unbelievable from that distance. It’s a blow. But it gives someone else an opportunity.”
Tandy confirmed that Wales will call up a replacement this week. The two most likely candidates are Leicester’s Tommy Reffell and Ospreys’ Harri Deaves.
“We’ll definitely call someone up,” said Tandy. “We’ll discuss that as a coaching group later.
“But we’re losing Jac, and there are some banged-up bodies. We’ll assess everything in the next 24 hours.
“Tommy is an outstanding international, playing well for Leicester, and Harri Deaves has been unbelievable for the Ospreys for a consistent period. We’ve got options.”
