Wales can't shake off love affair with Kiwi coaches

NEWS: The Welsh Rugby Union are set to reveal their new Kiwi coach this week.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac is set to be confirmed as Gatland’s replacement after he led the list of candidates which included Glasgow Warriors coach Dave Rennie

Gatland will leave his post as Wales head coach after next year’s World Cup in Japan.

Pivac is set to become the fourth New Zealander to take charge of Wales after Graham Henry (1998-2002), Steve Hansen (2002-2004) and Gatland (since 2008).

Pivac has enjoyed great success with Scarlets over the last two seasons with Welsh club reaching the Pro12/Pro14 Final is the past two seasons, winning the title in 2017.

Wales have won two Six Nations Grand Slam titles under Gatland and they also reached the semifinals of the 2011 World Cup.

Gatland also coached the British and Irish Lions on two tours.
