Wales' RWC desert storm

Wales have revealed their preparation plans for the World Cup, with training camps in Qatar, Poland and Switzerland.

Warren Gatland's side held a similar camp in Poland before the finishing third in the 2011 World Cup, and this time they will hold two other high-intensity camps on top of their warm-up games against Ireland and Italy in August.

They will play Ireland in Cardiff on August 8 and in Dublin on August 29, before taking on Italy at the Millennium Stadium on September 5.

"We are delighted at our schedule for next year," Gatland said in a statement published on the WRU website.

"We have home and away ties against Ireland as an extended squad and will face Italy with our final World Cup party. The training camps have been designed to push the limits of the squad and ensure we peak at the tournament.

"We were very pleased with the results of the 2011 preparation and this schedule not only uses what we learnt back then, but builds upon it."

Gatland will announce a provisional training squad for the World Cup in early June before announcing his final 31-man line-up on August 31.

Wales, who finished fourth at the 2011 World Cup, have been drawn alongside Australia, England, Fiji and Uruguay in Pool A.
