Tea and scones

The Stormers held a farewell tea party for their departing players on Sunday.

The defeat to the Sharks at Newlands on Saturday brought an end to the Stormers' season and also brought the curtain down on a few Stormers careers.

Peter Grant, Gio Aplon and Deon Fourie are all leaving to go play in France after lengthy careers with the Cape side, and captain Schalk Burger revealed last week that the team was set to gather on Sunday to send them off in style.

"We have got a little function on Sunday, so we are giving them all a send-off where we will drink a lot of tea and eat a lot of scones," he revealed.

"We have all been good mates for a long time and their most outstanding tribute is what good people they are. They are good rugby players but off the field they are quality people," Burger added.
