The whole world knows it is Christmas – a time for loving and praying and giving and receiving and being jolly.
For a lot of Europe's top rugby players it is a time for caution as the holidays around Christmas are a good time to have matches, and wobbly legs and floppy bellies do not make for success or enjoyment.
Some countries are generous to the players and organise no matches, in some cases till into 2016.
But at least we can wish all – players, referees and all other folk – a Happy Christmas.
