Super Semis Referees

SANZAR has made known the match officials for the semifinals of Super Rugby 2015 They are Craig Joubert and Glen Jackson.

After the clear-cut winners of qualifiers to take on the Hurricanes and Waratahs, the semis will both be a New Zealand team against an Australian team. Jackson will referee the semi in Wellington, Joubert the one in Sydney.

In Wellington the team that ended clearly to of the log, the Hurricanes, will take on the Brumbies who hammered the Stormers on Saturday.

In Sydney the Waratahs, second on the log, will play the Highlanders who were outstanding in their victory over the chiefs.

In each semifinals, the referees' back-ups are from the country in which the match is being played, which means that the Wellington match officials will all be New Zealanders.

If a semifinal ends in a draw there will be 20 minutes of extra time, divided into two halves. Should the extra time also end in a draw there will be sudden death in a further period of up to 10 minutes. Should that not settle the matter there will be the horror of a kick-out with five players from each team.
