Refs for European semis

The European Rugby Cup has announced the referees for the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup.

Because the teams in the Heineken semis are from England (3) and Wales, the referees of Ireland, Scotland, France and Italy were available. Both referees are Irish. Alain Rolland will referee his third Heineken semi, Alan Lewis his second.

There is a selection committee which nominates referees to European matches – Colin High (England), Michel Lamoulie (France) and Bob Yeman (Wales). The nominations are submitted to the ERC Match Officials Sub Committee made up of Referee Managers from the six participating countries, who review and confirm the final appointments.
