Here at rugby365 we believe retired All Black Richard Loe was the most merciless thug on the field.

Throughout his career he received numerous bans – the most infamous fracturing Paul Carozza's nose in vicious fashion after the Australian wing had scored a try and eye gouging All Black teammate and Otago fullback Greg Cooper in the 1993 NPC Final.
