Kolisi’s road to the final started with an opening-round victory over Argentina’s Pablo Matera and a semi-final win over Australia – claiming the best southern hemisphere captain in the process.

Jones saw off Ireland’s Johnny Sexton in the opening round before seeing off surprise package Charles Ollivon of France in the semi-final stage of the northern hemisphere division.
