These knockouts are not for the faint hearted

There has been numerous tackles and fends, be it legal or illegal, that has led to players immediately dropping like a sack of potatoes. Some manage to walk away from it, albeit gingerly, while others need assistance getting off the field.

No-one knows more about being on the receiving end of a hit that puts you to sleep than Wales’ George North. The wing has made headlines numerous times over the past few seasons. There was plenty of controversy in 2016 when he was, bizarrely, allowed back on the field while doing duty for Northampton Saints against Leicester Tigers.

Thankfully, North and all the other players on the receiving end of these brutal tackles and fends managed to recover.
