Affies captain - Rohan Roelofse
Affies captain Rohan Roelofse believes the big FNB Classic Clash against Grey College is an ideal opportunity to turn their season around after a tough start.
Affies went unbeaten last year, which included a victory over Grey in Bloemfontein, but things have been quite different this year with just two wins from their seven matches so far.
Although it has not been the ideal start from a young side which features just four players from last year's team, Roelofse sees the game against Grey as a good chance to show what they are worth.
"The season has not started the way we wanted with results not going our way, but the Grey game is a great opportunity to change things around," he said.
The towering lock believes in leading by example, so he will take the game to the opposition as Affies look to make it a hat-trick of victories over their old rivals.
"I believe that I am a forward with good ball skills and I carry the ball well, so I like to lead by example," he said.
Roelofse said that leading the 'Witbulle' is a dream come true.
"It is an enormous privilege and honour to captain the Witbulle, it was a dream from the day I started at Affies," he said.
He is expecting a tough game from high-flying Grey who have not lost a game this season and will be hungry for revenge after getting beaten on home soil last year.
"Grey must be one of the fittest teams in the country. They play a high tempo game with little mistakes.
"We are playing on home turf and that is always a plus, we must just believe in our abilities and in each other," he said.
