Affies drop over the Berg

Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool, Affies to everybody,  will bring 25 rugby teams over the Drakensberg and down to Pietermaritzburg to play Maritzburg College.

The two schools have been playing each other since 1996 and this is the 24th such meeting. Affies have won 20 of the 1st XV matches, College three.

This year the Affies’ aura of invincibility has not been there. They have lost five of their 11 matches. But then Affies will take on any opposition. of their 11 matches, six have been against teams ranked in the Top 20.

Affies have won five of their 11 matches, College three of their 13. (We have not counted the abandoned match with Kearsney when the weather became dangerous.)
