Agricultural Contest on the Farm

On Saturday  Hoër Landbouskool Boland near Paarl will have its 21st annual Interschool meeting with Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale near Riversdale.  The 1st XV match is a Premier Interschools match and so will be televised live.

This year Boland Landbou are the hosts at the Farm at Windmeul on the Agter-Paarl road between Paarl and Wellington.

Both of these schools have a great passion for rugby and pride in their achievements. They are small schools but are well known throughout South Africa, thanks to their rugby.

Season so Far

Boland Landbou's results so far this season have not been of their usually successful standard, but then they play top schools throughout the land. In their 16 matches they have played 10 schools which are now or have been on the FNB Top 20. Oakdale will be the 11th.

Of their 16 matches they have won six,  lost nine and drawn with SACS. All of their defeats have been against Top 20 teams.

Oakdale have also played 16 matches, six against teams that are or have been on the Top 20. They  have won 12 matches and lost four Top 20 sides.

Oakdale are currently ranked 16th on the FNB Top 20 while Boland Landbou are no ranked amongst those few schools.

Paarl Gim: Boland Landbou lost 25-23; Oakdale lost 27-13

Boland Landbou's players are eligible for Western Province, Oakdale's for South Western Districts, both strong provinces at Craven Week, though South Western Districts beat Western Province 38-23. They did not meet at the Academy Week.
