Boishaai put Wynberg to the sword

At Brug Street in Paarl, the home team Paarl Boys' High once again gave a five star performance in their runaway, 62-14 victory over their visitors from Wynberg.

With this win Paarl Boys' High recorded their 15th consecutive victory, to maintain their unbeaten record.

Initially Wynberg contested the forward exchanges well against a Paarl unit that included no less than five Western Province Craven Week caps. However, Wynberg failed to capitalise on some good early possession against some tigerish defence by their hosts.

On the other hand the home team showed deadly accuracy from turnovers, which resulted in some long range breakaway tries. They ran up a healthy 24-0 lead at the half-time break.

Paarl Boys' High started the second half like a house on fire and quickly scored another two converted tries to increase their lead.

However, Wynberg regrouped, with their nuggety scrumhalf Labib Kannemeyer leading the way. His halfback partner Dominic Coetzer (flyhalf) also played well under trying circumstances. Upfront, Stephen Mathew (eighthman) was justly rewarded for his tireless efforts with one of his side's tries.

For the hosts, who once again gave a polished and clinical performance to enhance their reputation as the country’s leading school boy side, JC van Schalkwyk (flank) and Khanya Ncusane (eighthman) excelled in a well drilled pack. Amongst the winners backs Bradley Thain (scrumhalf) and Manual Rass (outside centre) stood out.

Paarl Boys' High managed to score no fewer than 10 tries in the process.
