This would be de Jenga’s first Classic Clash but so far, he has had an illustrious rugby career and would want to continue building on that foundation.

In 2015, the matriculant was selected to take part in the Under-16 Grant Khomo, and was called up to captain Potchefstroom Boys' High this year, with his next goal set on taking part in the 2016 Craven Week.

"Grant Khomo was a tough and exciting period in my life. It was truly one of the best experiences I had so far. Along with captaincy, I would have to say that these two events have been my highlights as a rugby player,” he said.

De Jenga’s calmness and physicality brings structure to the team and the young captain's philosophy is of intense work ethic and dedication that will be very important when his team faces off against the old foe.

Since 2006, Potch Boys' High has managed to secure four victories, with only one draw in 2011. However, in the recent encounters HTS seem to have an upper-hand on their rivals, winning the previous encounter 16-15.

The captain vividly remembers the last three encounters on the losing side. And, anticipates nothing but the best from theirs rivals.

"I expect nothing but good running rugby, giving that their game strategy is much more focused on attack. It is a rivalry but at the end of the day I know that HTS Potchefstroom believes in fair play and that has been what both schools always strive to honor," he added.

When looking at the different teams, the centre stated that the season has been tough on the young boys, but feels that with clear heads and clear hearts the team can do anything.

"The season so far has been average, and there is always room for improvement.

"For Saturday's match, we do go into this encounter missing some first XV players, but there are a few players with experience, with the core being really enthusiastic and dedicated young group of players.

“Classic Clashes is usually a different ball game, thus my message to the guys it is not how good you are, but how good you want to be," he stated.
