Captain's profile: Mphumezi Magobhiyane
In the previous three meetings between the schools, Ukhanyo have tasted victory on two occasions – in 2013 and 2015 – while Alexandria edged them in 2014.
Magobhiyane has been in the first XV since the ripe age of 16 and played his part both previous victories and the solitary defeat. However, he feels they will be able to hold onto their title despite having a young side.
"Our team is a young group who are full of energy but we are still missing four first choice players. These injuries have led to us not having the best season thus far but we are the defending champions of this Classic Clash and it gives us a lot of confidence heading into the game.
"We are definitely going to prepare ourselves for a good game as we are expecting them to come at us with everything they have. With that said, they are a very good team this year," Magobhiyane said.
The 18-year-old scrumhalf gave a brilliant account of himself in the 2013 Classic Clash, which saw him being awarded the Man of the Match for that encounter.
"Being named captain is a massive honour for me and I have made it my mission to instil unity among all the squad members while maintaining a high spirit regardless of the results we encounter.
"I know that I need to be the example to the rest of the players as they feed off my energy and attitude. I know that I have their support and will treat this position with the respect it deserves while doing my best to succeed.
Magobhiyane's strength as a player is his ability to read the game and make match winning decisions. Those strengths will need to be at its best on Friday, April 22 when the sides lock horns.
The captain's message to his team is simple: "We play as a team, we win as a team and we lose as a team."
