Captain's profile: Sipho Dlongodlongo

Aside from Am missing the trip to Queen's Town after sustaining an injury, the men from King William's Town head to the opposition with a well-balanced team to continue their long-standing rivalry dating back as far as 1891.

"It really came as a blow when we realised we will be heading into the match without our regular captain Siyanda Am and it does add pressure giving that I have to lead the side now.

"However, we are a well-balanced side, with strength in the forwards and pace in the backline. I do believe we can head to Queen's and win," Dlongodlongo said.

Dale heads into the match with a great amount of confidence. They have had a great season thus far, beating the likes of Grey High School and Selborne College, respectively. The 2016 season also marked a 100th win against upcoming opponents Queen's at Dale's reunion weekend.

"It has been a dream season thus far; we have recorded some historic wins on the road which boosts our confidence ahead of the Classic Clash. However, I never underestimate Queen's. They're always tough opponents, therefore I expect them to come as hard at us as usual," he added.

The flyhalf is a remarkable player. He represented Border's Under-18 Academy side in 2015 and was promoted to the U18 Craven Week side in 2016. He has been playing for the first XV for two years and along with leading the side, will also celebrate his 40th first XV cap.

"It is a great honour and privilege to be named the captain of this great side. I have been playing first XV rugby for two years and every time I step on the park, it gives me goosebumps – this Saturday will be no different.

"As the captain, I am going to give my all and lead from the front by action and not just words. I encourage my teammates to go out there and play the way we played throughout the season. Just keep in mind it's not how you start but how you finish," he stated.
