Captain's profile: Stefan Roux
Stefan Roux has gained some mammoth achievements in his rugby career thus far. At just 18-years-old, he already has 3 years' experience in the first XV jersey and played at the VKB Week in Frankfort.
"Playing at VKB Week in Frankfort was hard but I gained a lot of experience playing at that level and it made playing for the first XV a pleasure. Having been part of the school's first XV for three years is a privileged and definitely a highlight of my rugby career," Roux said.
To add to his list of achievements, the flank has been given the responsibility of captaining the 2016 first XV. The esteemed role of captaincy came as a surprise to the flank, but one he truly enjoys.
"Being named captain was a big surprise in the beginning of the year, but I have started to embrace it and even found that I enjoy it a lot.
"Captaincy is a huge honour, therefore I believe a captain should lead by example," the skipper added.
Despite having had a tough season thus far – currently playing in a different league – HTS hope to overturn the season's poor start with a win over thier arch rivals at home.
"It has been tough playing in a new league this season. Even though we are struggling, our spirits are still high and we give our best with each game. This Saturday will be no different.
"For the Clash, we have a full strength team available to us – which is a good thing. I know they [Hoërskool Sasolburg] will come hard at us to retain the bragging rights, but we just have to stay focussed," Roux stated.
