De Kruine have bagged eight victories from the 10 matches they have played this season, which bodes well for them heading into the clash.

"Our season has been excellent because we have won eight out of 10 matches. What makes it so successful is that the team is mainly made up of grade 11 learners, which is exciting. We will field the same young group of players for this Classic Clash.

"The history of the rivalry is certainly in our favour as we have won most of the matches played between the schools. However, we are expecting a highly competitive match," Sneygans said.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed his time on the field as he gets to play alongside his twin brother in the team.

"Having my brother by my side on the field is definitely a highlight of my career and I feel honoured to be the captain of this team. I am one of those captains who lead by example and I feel like I am a good leader.

"I believe that the reward you receive is as a direct result of the effort you put in," he added.

The grade 11 pupil still has a long way to go in his career and once he has gained more experience, is hopeful of making a living from the sport by becoming a professional player one day.
