Die Brandwag in Close Win

In their second match this season Die Brandwag and St Andrew's of Grahamstown met in Uitenhage in an entertaining game of running rugby.

The home side led St Andrew's 18-10 at half-time and eventually ran out 25-20 winners, scoring four tries to three.

Both teams spread the ball well, but it was probably Brandwag that butchered more scoring opportunities on the day.  St Andrew’s looked strong in the scrum.  The backlines were very evenly matched in the sense that both managed to create overlaps.  The match was also characterised by stern defence from both sides.
