Dr Malan captain - Allwin Language

After a tough start to the season Dr Malan skipper Allwin Language is confident that his team can turn things around in their FNB Classic Clash with Driehoek.

The powerful outsde centre leads a relatively inexperienced side made up og mostly grade 11s, and despite injuries to key players he believes that they have what it takes to upset Driehoek.

"We’ve had a mixed season with lots of ups and downs through-out, but at this stage we are definitely on a high.

"The previous season we took a heavy loss, but I can assure them it will not be so easy this time," he warned.

The speedy centre played for the Falcons academy side last year which he says really matured his game as a whole.

"As a player I use my speed to my advantage, to accelerate into space and the vision to get vital passes away.  As a captain, I am a very positive player, and always try to rub it of on the guys that play with me, even in tough situations," he said.

Dr Malan are coming off a heavy defeat, but Language's message to his team this week is to keep their heads up and play with pride this weekend.

"After a heavy loss the game before this one, it was mainly to get our heads back up and keep a positive attitude towards this game and to find our rhythm again.

"Driehoek are known to be a team who’s defence is very good and are very dangerous with quick ball around the fringes," he said.
