Driehoek captain - Andries Basson
Driehoek have had an average season so far but captain Andries Basson believes his team just need a little more time to gel together.
Basson, now in his second year of first team rugby, has already tasted success over their FNB Classic Clash rival Dr Malan, beating them 28-10 last year.
However he knows that the history books will not help his team come Saturday, it is up to them to go out an win it.
"I believe that each year is a different team and that you can’t determine the outcome of first team games based on the history books," he said.
"We are a strong side and are determined to win on Saturday.
"We are expecting them to hit with everything they’ve got, after all they are playing them on home turf and that’s what every team would want to do in any game."
The captain feels a great sense of pride and honour in leading his team and is grateful for all that it has taught him.
"Through the years I have learned that as a captain you have big responsibilities and you have to step up and be an inspiration to your team," he added.
So when the team chose me as their captain, I was truly honoured."
Basson has been in his teams ear all week about the pride they should also be feeling representing the first team in such an important game.
"The message is to enjoy the game of rugby," Basson concluded.
"We have to go out and play 70 minutes of all out rugby and for that day, on a day like playing in a FNB Classic Clash, we have to show why we are playing there."
