FNB Top 20 - 3 August

The hard decision at the top this week was whether or not to move the Paarl schools after their drawn match at Interschools on Saturday.

The schools in third, fourth, fifth and sixth all won well, which meant there was no need to shift them.

Our next decision was what to do with teams who are not playing. In this case they are Maritzburg College and Westville. We have dropped them out but they will come back into consideration at the end of the season.

There were heavy defeats for Florida and Glenwood.

This all means that Boland Landbou have climbed considerably and there is room to take up from our promising group Oakdale and Duineveld.

In the group attracting most interest are Hentie Cilliers, Outeniqua, Die Brandwag, AHS Kroonstad (Rooiskool), Pretoria Boys High and Klerksdorp.

As the Beeld Trophy hots up there could well be further changes before the season dies away. There is also Die Burger’s competition which produces cross-province matches.
