Kearsney vs Maritzburg College

It could be a dramatic encounter as both teams are capable of excellent rugby, but both have been having mediocre seasons by their high standards.

For Kearsney their season is running out as they play rugby for just this term. So far this season they have played 15 matches, winning 10 of them.  Of their 15 matches, three have been against teams ranked on the Schools Top 20. They lost heavily to Drostdy and Glenwood but just 12-11 to DHS. Of KwaZulu Natal schools they have also lost recently to Michaelhouse and Hilton.

College have played 12 matches, winning seven. They have played against four teams in the Top 20 and lost to all of them – Grey College, Grey PE, KES and DHS.

Michaelhouse: Kearsney lost 26-24; Maritzburg College won 49-31

Hilton: Kearsney won 13-10 and lost 17-8; Maritzburg College won 23-8

St Stithians: Kearsney won 41-18; Maritzburg College won 36-29

There is not a significant difference here, but Kearsney now play College at their Botha's Hill home. That may well be a real advantage. There will also be for Kearsney the emotion of the Founder's Day Reunion.
