Lichtenburg - Gavin van der Berg

Lichtenburg captain Gavin van den Berg wants his team to make the most of their good form in their FNB Classic Clash against Klerksdorp.

Lichtenburg have won five out of their seven games this season, so Van den Berg is hopful that they can turn the tables on their rivals who have won the last two encounters between the sides.

The Lichtenburg skipper is a dynamic loose forward who played at Grant Khomo week for the Leopards and then played at the Craven Week Sevens tournament last year where he was named the Leopards' most valuable player.

He believes that his positive attitude is his best attribute as a captain, and he will be looking to inspire his side against what is always a strong Klerksdorp outfit.

"I try to stay humble, work harder and lead from the front. We just need to go out and back ourselves," he said.

Van den Berg, who is going to study Acturial Science in Stellenbosch next year, leads an experienced group with over ten Matrics, and he is hungry to beat Klerksdorp after being part of the team that lost the FNB Classic Clash last year.
