Linden outplay Randburg

The air filled with anticipation, as a jam-packed stadium prepared themselves for the key Classic Clash match between the two arch rivals.  

 

Both schools' first XV were sitting on two wins each in the lead up to the annual Linden-Randburg derby, this was bound to be an exhilarating occasion.

 

The score board was opened in the 24th minute, when Hoërskool Linden scored the first try. The right wing Tyron Erasmus cashed the first points in. Minutes later, Linden scored their second try by No.8 Dwayne Vorster. The first half was tightly contested, with exciting running rugby that entertained the crowd.

The visitors led 10-0 at break.

 

The second half began where the first half left off, with both schools playing fast-paced rugby. Both forward packs worked hard to gain their respective backlines front foot ball.

Early in the second half, Linden scoring again with their third try by Tommy van Staden and Devaux Bakkes added the extras. Now the flood gates were opened, and Linden scored a flurry of tries by John-Ro Rothner, scrumhalf Divan Steenkamp and Devaux Bakkes, unanswered by the hosts.

The final score 36-0 to the visitors.
