Linden sweep Randburg
The Classic Clash between Linden and Randburg Hoerskools was a try-feast, and Linden emerged winners 36-20 in what was a thrilling encounter.
This was the first time that the game was classified as a Classic Clash and the spectators streamed in for the main game providing an electric atmosphere.
"It was a day that every player will remember for the rest of their lives," said Linden captain Ryan Johst.
The match began and both teams had a nervous start, but the pace of the game eventually picked up as Jean Rabie crossed over the line for Linden.
Dwayne Vorster and flyhalf Kyle Leus added to the scoreboard for Linden taking their tally to 19 points. Leus managed to convert two of the three tries.
Randburg managed a try of their own in the first-half and the half-time score was 19-5 to Linden.
Linden were well in control of the game going into the second-half, and tries from Leus, Arno van Zyl and Ludwich Otto increased the lead for Linden. A late surge from Randburg saw them score 15 points in the second-half.
"It was a good team effort from every player and I am really proud to say we are all part of the team," said
Linden coach Gert van den Berg.
"What a team effort and the guys played for each other," added Johst.
