Midlands Derby
It is an occasion. Rugby forms the basis but really it is a joyous social occasion. The boys at the two great schools are mostly boarders, which means that families get a chance to be happily together and to meet other families. Old Boys get a chance to enjoy reviving memories and comparing the modern day with "in our day", when it was all much better.
It will all be understatedly splendid.
This will be the second time that the two teams meet this season. They play home and away every year but now that their season is confined to this term only, those matches happen in just this term.
The first time they met, at Hilton, Hilton won comfortably, 38-21. In fact Hilton have had a better season. They have played 12 and won nine of them. Michaelhouse have played 11 and won six. Hilton have played two teams ranked on the Schools Top 20 and beaten one of them, DHS. Michaelhouse have also played two and lost to both.
