Neighbours Clash in Jo'burg's North
Up in Johannesburg's northwest, the two schools are roughly two kilometres apart. Despite their proximity and similarity as Afrikaans-medium coed schools and despite their enthusiasm for rugby, they have not always played, partly because rugby organisers labelled Linden a large school and Randburg a medium schools and then vice versa till in 2013 they were both considered large schools, and have played since then.
In 2013 they drew 25-all.
The next year Linden, reduced to 13 players, won 19-17. In 2015 Linden won the Classic Clash 36-20 and in 2016 36-0.
They are both strong schools who can mix it in good company, but this is the really enthusiastic match, the one that gets emotions bubbling over.
This year's Classic Clash will be played at Linden.
