Oakdale captain: Stephan Streicher

Oakdale Landbou take on rivals Marlow Landbou in a FNB Classic Clash this weekend in what is sure to be a tight encounter.

Stephan Streicher has the honour of leading out the hosts and will be hoping to keep their two year winning streak over Marlow alive in the 'farm derby'.

"Our matches against them (Marlow) are always a tight, farm derby clash and it is the highlight every year. We have managed to win the last 2 years but every year is a new game," he said.

The 1.93m tall matriculant has 30 caps for his school and will lead from the front to inspire his teammates to victory.

"I always try to lead by example. I keep a positive attitude throughout the match and my body language doesn't drop, no matter what the score is," he added.

The lock forward is confident with his ability to to secure possession in the line out and loves carrying the ball and set-up an attacking platform for his backline.

Oakdale will not be leaving anything to chance heading into the match as they will be looking to field an experienced side made up of nine matriculants and six players who are in grade 11. Seven of the starting 15 have played provincial rugby for SWD.

"Marlow is always physical with good loose forwards who will compete in the break downs. The defensive system they have in place is also very good. That's why we will select our strongest team. We want to take the game to them," he added.

Oakdale will want to give a good account of themselves in their last home match of the season and Streicher says that they will "make it count".
