Paarl Boys' High vs Paul Roos
Paarl will be a good place to be on Saturday afternoon.
Paarl Boys' High are the biggest success story in South African schoolboy rugby. They have won their last 51 matches in South Africa and are ranked No.1 on the Schools Top 20.
Paul Roos were, earlier in the season, ranked No.1 but have now slipped down to 13th, still a great achievement and in their topsy-turvy season could well dethrone Booishaai.
Both are sides not shy of taking on the best. So far this year Paul Roos have played seven teams ranked on the Top 20 in their 10 matches, Paarl Boys' High four in their nine matches.
Booishaai have won all nine, Paul Roos seven out of 10, losing to three – Paarl Gim (by a point), Waterkloof and Grey PE.
The only opponents they have in common so far are Affies of Pretoria. Paarl Boys' High beat them 14-10, Paul Roos 21-14.
There really is little to choose between the two schools – not even distance, for they are only some 30 km apart.
Boishaai will have the home-ground advantage but it's not a huge advantage as their teams will have been there often enough before.
The match, a Premier Interschools match, will be televised live on Supersport channel 210.
