Paarl Gim's Fixtures

Last year they were once again on the FNB Top 20, ending in second place behind archrivals Paarl Boys' High who managed the rare feat of an unbeaten season.

Paarl Gim's achievements on the schools fields and beyond are even greater when one considers the composition of its pupils. To start with its is a coed school and not one of vast numbers.

Gim, founded in 1858, has been a coed school since 1967, has only about 500 boys in the senior school. It's not a big schools but certainly packs a big punch.

The big match of the year is the Interschools played on the neutral Faure Street Ground, the real Interschools, attracting in the region of 20 000 spectators, always a great occasion. Boys' High won 16-15 in 2015 but Gim have dominated Interschools this century leading 10-4 with a draw. Interschools this year is on 6 August with Boys' High the hosts.

The Gim season includes the prestigious Wildeklawer tournament. In all Gim will play nine schools which were on the Top 20 in 2015.

4 June: Gim vs Rondebosch away

11 June: Gim vs De Kuilen at home

16-17 June: Coastal Provinces Tournament

23 July: Gim vs Oakdale away

30 July: Gim vs Stellenberg en Settlers at home

5-6 August: Interschools

13 August: Gim vs Primrose, Tygerberg RFC en WC Sport School at home
