Paul Roos Celebrates 150

In 2015 Paul Roos Gymnasium, the great school in Stellenbosch, will celebrate its 150th birthday and it is no surprise that rugby will have its day in the celebration.

The rugby part of the celebration will centre on the school's rugby day on 28 March 2015.

Many of its local rivals will be there plus Affies from Pretoria, Pietersburg from Polokwane and Diamantveld from Kimberley.

Bishops is a strange omission as they have been playing each other at least since 1876. Bishops have been investigating the possibility of going overseas, which now seems less likely. Should they not go they will still join in the festivities.

SACS and Bishops are Paul Roos's oldest rivals, going back to the days when all three offered university classes before the establishment of Stellenbosch University, which plays in the same colours as Paul Roos, and the University of Cape Town, which plays in the same colours as SACS.
