Paul Roos win again
Paul Roos Gymnasium of Stellenbosch won their second match at the Sanix Rugby World Youth Tournament at Fukuoka in Japan.
It may have been that the Paul Roos side were better rested for the match; it may be that the opposition was not as strong as that the day before. Whatever it was it was a more polished performance as they ran out 78-0 winners against Kashiwa in Pool A.
That was the biggest score of Day 2, but still there is a chasm between winners and losers in this mismatched competition – except for the match between Higashi Fukuoka and Enisei-STM of Russia.
There are no matches on Friday when the teams will visit Nagasaki, 70 years after the atom bomb was dropped on the city, causing 75 000 casualties and twice as many as when a bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Hokuyodai school is in Nagasaki, Onomichi in Hiroshima.
