Pieties beat Vossies in Polokwane
In an FNB Classic Clash Hoërskool Pietersburg of Polokwane beat Hoërskool Ben Vorster of Tzaneen 33-25. Each side scored four tries but kicking won it for the home side.
It was a day of hard, attractive rugby with scores in the nine matches generally close. Vossies won more than they lost but the day still belonged to Pieties who won the 1st team match, the one that really counts.,
The match was a seesaw but half-time saw the Vossies leading 18-10 after good tries by Tiaan Vorster, Mitch Mametsa and Theo Mahlo.
But in the second half Pieties came back as Vossies faded and enabled the Pieties to profit from their mistakes, goaling three penalties and scoring a converted try to lead 26-18.
this seemed to wake the Vossies up and a try by Vandré Rolls, who was at the 2013 Craven Week, brought the score to an exciting 26-25.
In search of victory the Vossies ran the ball from everywhere but a charged down kick gave the Pieties the victory they deserved.
