Preview: Kwaggas vs Struisies

On paper it looks as if it should be another Kwaggas' win as they will have nine players in their side that represented South Western Districts in this year's Craven week.

Outeniqua are also sitting pretty in 16th place in the latest Schools Top 20 list and are also coming off an impressive 50-29 win over Framesby

Another interesting fact is that Struisies have only come out victors in this clash once in the last 20 years, which shows what they are up against.

However, Kwaggas' team manager Piet Cloete is wary of the favourites tag in such a big clash.

"If you look at the past then we are the dominant team. We should also win if you go according to paper, but you never know.

"We have prepared well for this match and we only have a few niggles to speak of," said Cloete.

The Struisies are coming off a 12-64 loss to Die Brandwag, but should find solace in the fact that they are unbeaten in the SWD medium school league.

However, they are playing one of the top schools in the country on Monday and will know that they would have to be at their best to try and contain the Kwaggas’ big ball carriers.

Struisies captain Adriaan Coetzee knows what awaits his team in George.

"We expect them to play a very expansive game, running the ball even from their own 22. A high risk, high reward type of game," said Coetzee.
