Preview: Marais Viljoen v Florida
Marais Viljoen will have a massive task on their hands to claim their first victory over Florida in six years when the schools meet in a Classic Clash on Saturday.
With history on their side, Florida coach Stefan Lourens is highly confident about his sides chances of maintaining their stranglehold over their rivals despite having a few injuries.
"We have been hit by a few injuries and our preparations have been somewhat disrupted by Craven Week trials but we are still confident about our chances. The team is very positive and we currently have seven guys still in the running to make the Craven Week team, so they will have a lot to prove in the match.
"History certainly favours us as we have been unbeaten in five years and will be looking to make it six on Saturday. We have a strong pack of forwards so we will definitely keep it tight so that we can employ our expansive pattern throughout the match," Lourens said.
For the home side, they will have their best chance to etch their names in the history books as coach Ryno Luus will field no less than 14 matriculants in his run-on team in the hope of breaking their duck over their rivals.
"We are fully focused on the job at hand and have prepared well for the match. Fortunately, we have no injury concerns and will field our strongest team that will hopefully be able to pull off our first win against Florida in five years.
"We need to ensure we make use of our backline but the only way that can happen is if we get good ball from the forwards. It is really going to an interesting match on Saturday," Luus said.
