Schools Day at Newlands

The Western Province Schools Day produced plenty top-quality schoolboy action, with Mini Rugby, an Under-13 match between Parklands and Dr GJ Joubert, and five Under-19 matches taking place at Newlands.

The 1st XV matches are 20 minutes each way with no kicks at goal.

The final match of the afternoon, between Rondebosch Boys' High and Paul Roos Gym was a thriller, ending with a desperate Rondebosch tackle at the hooter to win the match.

There was lots of noisy support for this, the twelfth Schools Day of the modern era.
