It has rained heavily in many parts of the country.
Mercy that it is, it' still makes for uncomfortable rugby.
Those who watched the Lions outplay the Blues at Ellis Park will know that it rained hard, straight down, so hard that the curtainraiser between St Benedict's and Parktown was called of, which must have been a huge disappointment to the two teams.
There were seven Classic Clashes this weekend, thanks – Schoonspruit vs Wolmaransstad in Klerksdorp, Upington vs Duineveld, Piketberg vs Schoonspruit, HTS Middelburg vs Hoërskool Middelburg, Ermelo vs Hoogenhout, Sentraal vs Jim Fouché in Bloemfontein and Outeniqua vs Oudtshoorn on Struisiesdag in Oudtshoorn.
There are many points scored in many matches, which makes 3-0, 6-3, and 8-5 all the more interesting. But scores like 28-all and 31-29 would be incomprehensible to old folk.
