Schools Top 20 - 13 August
There were not as many matches as usual over the weekend but then it was a long weekend and if Friday is a holiday, Saturday must be one too, it seems.
Some schools used the opportunity for a bigger get-together than usual, and so Glenwood went from Durban to Bloemfontein and Selborne went from East London to Port Elizabeth. Sadly in a way, both travelling sides got big hidings. Then there was Kwaggadag in George, Hudson Park beating Dale and Die Brandwag coming back to victory, and big wins for Oakdale, Dr EG Jansen and Monument. But the biggest wins of the weekend belonged to Grey Bloem and Garsfontein.
We have continued our policy of rewarding the teams that were playing. If a team lost we gave it advantage over a team that did not play. There will be one more of these Top 20s which react to the previous week's result and then we shall put all the teams in the mix on 27 August and come up with what we believe is the year's FNB Top 20.
One of the playing teams that we have acknowledged is Queen's College who get onto the FNB Top 20 for the first time this season.
Others promoted are Garsfontein, Monument, Grey PE and Oakdale
