Selborne at home to St Andrew's
A lot will depend on how well the Selbornians keep their boots on the field after floating on Cloud 9, the heroes of all school and city. their win over Grey College of Bloemfontein was indeed noteworthy, a match no Selbornian present will forget. But they had better beware, for St Andrew's are no push-overs.
They have not had as tough a fixture list as Selborne, but they have lost only twice in 10 matches where Selborne have lost four out of 11. The four don't matter of course, not in the light of the one last Saturday.
Selborne have lost to Monument, Paarl Boys' High, Helpmekaar and, surprisingly, Dale. The first three are all teams ranked on the Schools Top 20. The win over Grey Bloem brought Selborne up to 16th on the ranking.
St Andrew's are not ranked on the Top 20 as the only Top 20 team they have played has been SACS, who beat them. The other team they lost to was old rivals Bishops.
St Andrew's won their match last Saturday, beating Cambridge 33-10. Selborne, as all South Africa knows, beating Grey Bloem 20-19 with a conversion by Mitchell Connellan to win the match.
Ten of the St Andrew's side have been chosen to go to Craven Week in Bloemfontein this year to play for the Eastern Province Country Districts side – Dean Jenkins (captain), Chulu Mngxaso, Callum Dugmore, Ikhetheleng Nkhereanye, Jason Brown, Zadok Makani, Oscar Evans, Murray Koster, Jack Allanson and Byron Sharwood.
