St Andrew’s end season on a high
The skillful St Andrew’s side took a 31-7 advantage at the break.
The hosts made use of their opportunities as they ran in two quick unanswered tries putting the Muir side on the back foot. From that moment on Muir found themselves chasing the game.
The visitors managed to settle down and put a few phases together to get over the advantage line and into St Andrew’s half for the first time in the tough encounter. Muir's efforts were rewarded as Luphelo Miggels found space out wide, worked hard and dotted down next to the uprights to open their account. Center partner Neo Pepeta kicked the conversion and narrow the gap to just five points, 7-12.
Muir's try seemed to ignite St Andrew’s as they up the tempo and ran in three tries to extend the lead just before the break.
The second half saw Muir put the first points on the board. No.8 Lukhanyo Jafta shrugged off a few defenders, set up the ruck and then follow play to collect the final pass and dot down in the corner.
