St Andrew's too strong for Muir

A physically dominant St Andrew's ran rampant on their home pitch and beat Muir College 69-10.  St Andrew's were ahead 20-3 at the break.

The first 10-15 minutes were competitive but physical size played in the hosts' favour and ran in three unanswered tries in the first half.  Muir’s fullback Ruben de Vos kicked a penalty to keep them in the game.

The second half saw St Andrew's up the intensity, disrupt Muir’s structures and run in a number of tries to take the game away from Muir.  The last few minutes saw Muir cross the line with a consolation try by outside centre Mihlali Nobomvu, flyhalf Abongile Sonjica converted.

Forwards, Gary Karlin, Lungile Sonwabo and Mzi Goba played until the final whistle and tried valiantly to keep the score down.  They were supported from the back by centre pairing Lunathi Nxele and Mihlali Nobomvu.  Wing Xolela Daniels also got stuck in until the bitter end…
