This Friday's edition will be the 49th at Brookside in Claremont, the tournament Dave Stewart started and inspired for so many years.

The tournament has usually meant bad weather but, much as the drought-stricken Cape would love rain, the forecast for Friday is sunny with a high of 19° and a low of 10°, good for Sevens and Sevens watchers.
There will, be 24 schools teams taking part, including Paarl Gim who have won the trophy for the last two years.
This year there will be new visitors from up the West Coast – Hoërskool Hopefield.

And the tournament, not for the first time, will have an overseas team. Georgia Under-18 are in South Africa at present and will be playing in the tournament. Rugby in Georgia is a favourite sport.
The first match will be at 14.40 when Bishops play Milnerton. The final will start at 21.00 – over six hours of exciting activity.

On Thursday night Old Boys of the four big Peninsula schools will play a round robin – Rondebosch Old Boys, Bishops Old Boys, SACS Old Boys
and Wynberg Old Boys. The top two teams will play their final as a curtainraiser to the Villager Sevens Trophy Final.
The Villager Sevens will use all three fields at the club on Imam Haron Road.
