It started early in cold Kimberley, but Paarl Boy's High soon felt the heat as Waterkloof attacked and scored to lead 5-0. At half-time Boys' High led 17-10 and then ruled the second half, scoring 36 unanswered points. They score seven tries to two in a convincing victory.
There was a good feeling about the match amongst the Boys' High staff.

As the score suggests, it was a close contest.
The boys from George led 24-14 at half-time but Back came the boys from Boksburg in the second half till with 10 minutes to play they led 31-17.
Then just before the final whistle, Jaco Gerber scored the try that won the match 34-31.

It was broadsword vs rapier, and the rapier won. While Stellenberg's big forwards kept the ball from the Glenwood backs, the Durbanville school stood a chance. But the tempo of the match took its toll on the heavier forwards and Glenwood got more possession which their backs put to good use. Of Glenwood's eight try-scorers, only hooker Ruan Olivier was not a back.
Glenwood won comfortably at 52-10.

The SARU Invitation XV found Welkom Gimnasium a tough nut to crack. Only Storm Hanekom of Hoërskool Charlie Hofmeyr in Ceres scored a try while Gimmies scored five. The other scorer for the Invitation team was Lionel April of Hermanus.
Welkom Gim won 31-10.

Anybody who doubted Paul Roos's worth this year would have had doubts removed. They are a well-balanced side this year with tough, effective forwards and backs who pose a threat wherever they get the ball.
Menlopark are ranked 13th on the FNB Top 20 after beating Eldoraigne, Nelspruit, Rustenburg, Outeniqua and Stellenberg. But Paul Roos scored seven tries against them in winning 47-17.

The match between Paarl Gim and Monument was a thriller from start to finish, a magnificent advertisement for schools rugby in South Africa.
Each side scored five tries and three conversions. The difference in the end was a solitary penalty goal kicked by Charl Janson. It gave Gim a 34-31 victory in a match both sides deserved to win.
There were just three points difference at half and three points difference at the end.
Janson kicked his penalty just before half-time to make the score at the break 22-19.

The season suggests that this result was not unexpected. Oakdale are having a fine year and are ranked sixth on the FNB Top 20, an excellent team.
At half-time Oakdale led 21-10 and the final score was 56-24.
To Noord-Kaap's credit, they scored four tries against Oakdale, a feat on its own.
